Born on November 29, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of Robert (Bob) and Gertrude (Pip) Marvin. Barb graduated from Upper Dublin High School and earned her B.A in French and master's degree in education from Allegheny College. After teaching, she earned a degree in paralegal studies. She worked in that capacity for attorney Charles Nesbitt, Sonic Corp., and the FBI before her retirement in 2015.
Barb married Michael Mize on July 6, 1974. They lived in Shaker Heights, OH and Columbus, OH before moving to Oklahoma City in 1981. Their 52 years were marked by wonderful family adventures and travels to many countries, including their most recent trip to Iceland. She was very involved in Westminster Presbyterian Church and the HOA in her community. A lover of golf, she also took up pickleball and played several times a week. Barb was an excellent seamstress, quilter, and wrapper of nativity figurines for With Joy. Her beautiful garden brought her great joy, and she loved planning and tending to each season’s new plants and flowers. She loved to bake and was especially known for her desserts.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; 2 daughters, Lauren Falco (husband Matt) of Lexington, KY, and Bethany Wall (husband Josh) of Trophy Club, TX; 5 grandchildren (Sarabeth Wall, Anabelle Wall, Adelyn Wall, Lucas Falco, and Jonah Falco) who were the love of her life; sister Pat Marvin of Edmond, OK, and brother Stu Marvin of Bloomsburg, PA.
She loved well and was well loved.
