She was born on September 22, 1928, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to William Franklin Rogers and Mary (Lee) Rogers. Betty lived in Fort Worth, Texas during her elementary school years and moved to Oklahoma City at age thirteen. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. After high school, she attended a business college. Betty later attended Oklahoma City University where she studied accounting and business law. Early in her career she worked as an office manager and bookkeeper, and later as an accountant and auditor. She had an analytical mind and enjoyed crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and anything dealing with mathematics. Betty loved all animals and rescued numerous dogs and cats throughout her life. She is survived by two of her beloved cats. Her Christian faith was central to her life, guiding her daily.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynne Buchwald and Suzanne Harris, son-in-law Keith Buchwald; grandchildren Greg Buchwald and wife Lori Buchwald, Allison Buchwald, Kyle Nixon, Rachael Nixon Webb, and Victoria Harris; great grandchildren William Buchwald, Riley Webb, and Abigail Webb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Franklin Rogers and Mary Lee Rogers; her sisters, Eunice Shilling Nichols, Fern Jordan, and Margaret Kelley, and brother William (Bill) Rogers Jr.; and great granddaughter Anne Marie Buchwald.
Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. on May 23, 2021, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
