Beverly Ellen Newman of The Village, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, September 10th at the age of 93. Beverly was born in Los Angeles, California, to Walter F. Beilby and Violet Valentine (Haessig) Beilby on August 20, 1928.
Beverly graduated from Centenary College in Shreveport, LA in 1948 with a degree in Home Economics and a minor in Chemistry. While attending school and working at the drug store soda fountain, she met William (Bill) Newman and married him a few years later. After residing in Shreveport, Louisiana, and Wichita, Kansas, the couple moved in 1967 to The Village, Oklahoma, with their five children.
In addition to raising her children, Beverly worked as a Realtor, an Executive Secretary, joined the Oklahoma City Geologist Wives Association, Oklahoma Business Women, Christian Women's Club, Red Hats, and is an Alumnae of Chi Omega Sorority. She was multi -talented, an extraordinary seamstress, a wonderful cook, excelled in beautiful china painting and was a very creative loving person. Beverly was a very spiritual woman and her faith in God brought her great comfort. Her and Bill's affiliation with Quail Springs Baptist Church was instrumental in their decision making.
Predeceased by her parents, Brother Jack Beilby, and grandchild Luke Davis.
Beverly is survived by her husband William H. Newman, Sherrie & Ron Williams, Bill & Margaret Newman, Connie Thompson, Sue and Chris Davis, Joyce Bodenhamer, 8 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren, sister and brother -in-law Gene & Mike Schoonmaker, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Beverly will be held Thursday, September 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 17, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Quail Springs Baptist Church, 14613 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
