

Byron R. Snyder Jr., 79, of Choctaw, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2025. Born in Oklahoma City on February 9, 1945, to Byron and Annette Snyder, he lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service.
Byron attended Del City High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Central State, now known as the University of Central Oklahoma. In his journey through life, he met the love of his life, Margaret Schmidt, and the two shared a beautiful marriage after exchanging vows on December 5, 1980.
Professionally, Byron built a successful career in the insurance industry. Beyond his work, he was a proud member of both the American Legion and the Marine Corps League, reflecting his deep sense of patriotism and service to his country. Byron’s passions extended to dancing, fishing, and ministry—pursuits that brought him great joy and fulfillment throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Margaret Snyder; his children, Matthew, Adam, and Jameeleh; his cherished grandchildren, Steven, Kassandra, Lena, Jerika, Brian; and his siblings, Paul and Nada. His legacy of kindness, love, and dedication to family will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life honoring Byron will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Memorial Park’s Historic Cemetery Chapel, located at 13400 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73131.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Byron’s honor to the Parkinson’s Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, causes that were close to his heart.
