

Calvin Dempsey Swanson “absent from the body, present with Lord Jesus”. Nov. 2, 1928 - Dec. 29, 2014. Born to Ruble Denton in Beggs, OK in the four room house of Aunt Minnie StCyr. His brother, Bill Boone, who is deceased, was also born there. Calvin had many cousins and friends and many stories to tell as a child and teen. He worked in a gas station in Sacramento and had a hot dog stand in OKC; anything to save money to buy his first car, which he bought when he was 13. He joined the Air Force in WWII and worked as an aircraft mechanic and was recalled during the Korean War. His oldest child, from his first marriage, is Denny Albee. In 1951, he married Mary B. Moore. Their two children are Elmo Swanson and Gwen Carpenter. He and Mary joined Oakdale Baptist Church (Witcher B.C.) in 1958. He was an active member and deacon. Calvin was an auto mechanic by trade. His hobbies were antique cars, motorcycles and having a beautiful lawn. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, brother and wife, Mary. He is survived by his 3 children, Denny Albee and wife, Laura; Elmo Swanson and wife, Patti, and Gwen Carpenter; 4 grandchildren, Lisa Masters and husband, Rick; Matt Swanson and wife Cindy; Taylor Albee and Hunter Albee; 8 great grandchildren, Danna Murphy and husband, Sean; Andy Masters; Bronson Jones; Mason Jones; Kilie Swanson; Linkoln Swanson; Neeley Swanson and Michael Masters; two great great grandchildren; Rosalyn and Lyla Murphy and a sister-in-law, Etta Boone and her family. Services will be Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 N. Kelley Ave., Okla. City, OK, with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing is Sunday, Jan 4, noon to 5:00 p.m.
