She was born to parents Leonard and Gladys Dunn in Rocky, Oklahoma on June 29, 1936. Carolyn graduated from Capitol Hill High School in Oklahoma City. She was married to James Hassan on April 7, 1956, who waited for her to join him in heaven.
Carolyn had a long career in the title insurance business but by far her favorite job was at OETA. Her true passion was for helping others and she loved to volunteer in ways that allowed her to do what she enjoyed most. She had a beloved therapy dog and along with Jimbo they visited hospitals regularly bringing joy to many patients. Tirelessly, she volunteered at the tragic OKC bombing site. And she continued to do good work at Deaconess Hospital and Eastern Star. She even managed to fit in volunteering to rock ill babies.
Soon upon moving to Ozark, she began attending First Baptist Church there.
She is survived by two children, Daneece Berge of Ozark, MO and Dan Hassen of Houston, TX. Grandchildren, Shea Kummer (Shea Lauren Hassen), Ashley Rae Hassen, Beck Hassen, Bond Hassen, Sean Molter, Seth Molter and Shane Molter. Great grandchildren, Holt Kummer, Jett Kummer, Ford Kummer, Tatum Molter, Braxton Molter, Maci Molter and Grayson Molter. Beloved nieces and nephews, Linda Dunn, Brenda Johnson, Gordon Loveless, Mike Loveless and Barry Loveless. And, as one would expect of someone who lived long herself and helped so many by touching their lives in any number of ways, she is survived by a host of relatives and friends in many states.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hassan; Her brother Earnest D. Dunn and twin sister, Marolyn, all of whom awaited her in heaven.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Chapel in Oklahoma City, OK.
