Donald Ray Pleasant

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Ray Pleasant, 63, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, who departed this life on March 1, 2025. Donald was born on November 12, 1961, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Robert Williams and Marlene Pleasant.

Don graduated from Jordan High School in Watts, California and lived a life full of love, joy, and dedication to his family and friends. He was known for his deep passion for the color purple, his love of barbequing, his unmatched skill in frying fish for gatherings, bringing smiles and laughter to all who had the privilege of sharing a meal with him. He also carried a fondness for oldies music, which brought him much joy and created many cherished memories with loved ones. He was a cherished father, brother, and friend who will forever be remembered for his kind heart, his love of music, and his unwavering spirit.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Williams; mother, Marlene Pleasant; sister, Shirley Pleasant; and brother, Marvin Christy.

Don leaves behind a legacy of love and memories with his children: Donald Ray Pleasant Jr., Oquana Pleasant, Donte Pleasant, and Tyjuan Fields; grandchildren: Harlen, Haleyah, Darius, Dakota, and Keylanni Pleasant. He is also survived by his brothers: Anthony Pleasant, Robert B. Williams, and Terrill Williams; and his sisters: Helen Pipkins, Joyce Pleasant, Waldean Bowling, Angela Beck, and Anissa Reed. His extended family and friends will also carry his memory in their hearts.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on March 12, 2025, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. We invite all who knew and loved Don to join in celebrating his life and honoring the legacy he leaves behind.

A visitation for Donald will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery-Mausoleum, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
