Doris Wanda Jones

Doris Wanda Jones passed away on April 8, 2012 at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. She most recently lived in Salida, Colorado with her daughter, Janet Lane. She was born April 24, 1924 to John Walker Oden and Mary Rosetta Oden in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

An Oklahoma A&M graduate, she began her working life as a teacher and later served as a medical social worker, a job she loved and at which she excelled. She was a caring, loving mother and devoted wife.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rupert L. Jones, Jr., her parents and her brother Leroy Oden. She is survived by three sons, Gary Jones of Little Rock, Mark Jones of Houston, Scott Jones and wife Cheryl of Stillwater, OK, daughter Janet Lane and husband Gary of Salida, CO., brothers Lowell Oden and his wife Jeanne of Granbury, TX and Don Oden and his wife Helen of Tulsa, and sister Reba Quetone and her husband Jim of Tahlequah, OK. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Amy Jones and Brad Jones of Little Rock, Brian Jones of Denver, Kelsi and Lindsey Jones of Stillwater and many extended family and friends.Visitation will be held 1 pm to 8 pm Friday, April 13th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, April 14th, at Chapel Hill Methodist Church at 2717 W. Hefner Road in OKC.
