Doris graduated college with a business degree and went to work for her uncle for a year at his insurance company, when her soon to be husband Marion Kordic persuaded her to come back to Oklahoma to start a new life together. She helped raise over twenty foster care children and has two children of her own, Marty Kordic and Zon Kordic-Binkley. She was known as “Memaw” to her seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She enjoyed snow skiing, scuba diving (which she didn’t pick up till her early 60’s), and beach combing. She also had a passion for pool parties, singing barbershop, bible studies, adding you to her prayer list, and bragging about her grandchildren. Doris loved to travel the world. Some of the many places she visited were the Great Wall of China, London, and Paris, and did she love Paris.
She was a giver of her time to many organizations such as the Food Program for under privileged children and the Food Pantry. Doris discovered Sweet Adelines and joined the Oklahoma City chorus in 1959 where she served in many positions such as President, Choreography Teacher, and New Member Welcomer and received the Sweet Adeline of the year award as well as the Opal Chandler award. For years Doris would have people over every Sunday after church to play volleyball and she would host them all and feed them. She was so giving of her time, energy, and money.
In her later days, she enjoyed spending her days on the patio, coffee in her hand working crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy, attending weekly Thunder games, was a football couch potato, and spending time with her family. If you ever needed anything, she was a phone call away.
Doris was survived by children Marty Kordic, and Zon Kordic-Binkley, grandchildren Chris Kordic, Galen Binkley, Lexi Moroni, Seth Binkley, Caleb Binkley, Josiah Binkley, and Selah Binkley, and siblings late Jack Paddock, Wally Harris and son Daniel Harris, WA Daniel, Phyllis Goodner, Glenna Cook, and late Gerry Don.

A funeral service will occur Friday, April 8, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Baggerley Funeral Home, 930 S Broadway, Edmond, Oklahoma 73034. A burial will follow the service at Memorial Park Cemetery.
