

Herb was born in Oklahoma City on October 2th, 1935 to Juanita and Herbert C. Roberts. Herb graduated from Classen High School in 1953 and then attended college at Oklahoma State A&M, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Herb entered the Marine Corps in 1957 and was selected to go to flight training in Pensacola Florida as an aviation cadet. He received his wings and was commissioned as a lieutenant in the Marine Corps in July of 1960. Herb was a member of the Death Rattle squadron (VMF 323) stationed at Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, in southern California. Later, Herb’s squadron was sent aboard the USS Lexington, and aircraft carrier, based in San Diego in preparation for a cruise into the western Pacific Ocean. Upon returning to the United States, Herb was promoted to the rank of Captain prior to leaving the Marines. He then returned to Okla. City with his family and opened Northwest Datsun in 1966 which was the 1st Datsun dealership in the state of Oklahoma. He retired from Northwest Nissan in 2000. During his time as owner of Northwest, he served 3 terms on the Nissan National Advisory Board. Herb was a man of many hobbies. He was a charter member at Oak Tree Golf Club in Edmond. He spent many hours playing golf here and made many, many friends while there. He was also an avid hunter and enjoyed training the bird dogs he hunted with.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Juanita Roberts, and an infant daughter Michelle. He is survived by his brother, Jerry Roberts and wife Shirley Roberts from Brownwood, Texas, and two nephews, Randy Roberts and Jeff and Diane Roberts; Daughter, Ricki Roberts Carter from Choctaw and her children Feather, Tyson, Britton, and Haylee; daughter, Lynn Roberts and her husband John Roberts from Edmond; and son Scott Roberts and wife Diane from Ketchum and their children Reagan, Will, and Reese.
