

He grew up on 18th Street in Oklahoma City, where he attended Classen High School. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of Delta Tau Delta. He also graduated from the University of Oklahoma Medical School, and he did his internship in orthopedics at the University of Southern California/Los Angeles County Hospital. His sister, Shirley, attended Scripps College in Claremont, California, and she introduced Jack to her classmate and close friend, Catherine Diane DeVrahnos, of San Marino, California. Jack and Diane began dating and were married on July 16, 1955. The couple moved to MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, where Jack was a Captain in the Air Force. They returned to Oklahoma City where Jack was an orthopedic surgeon, practicing at various area hospitals including Saint Anthony’s, where he was Secretary of Staff. Jack and Diane raised a family in the Edgemere neighborhood of Oklahoma City, later moving to Edmond, Oklahoma. Jack retired and owned a farm near Mulhall, Oklahoma, where he and Diane enjoyed many days with their children and grandchildren.
Jack passed away at the age of 92 at his home in Edmond surrounded by his family. He is predeceased in death by his wife, Diane, who was the love of his life, his parents, Bonnie C. Spencer of Chandler, Oklahoma, his mother, Annabelle (Atkins) Spencer of Holdenville, Oklahoma, his brother-in law, William McDowell “Bill” Blaik, Sr., of Nichols Hills, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley (Spencer) Blaik of Nichols Hills, his sons, Mark David Spencer (Jeanette) of Edmond, OK, Steven David Spencer (Michele) of Kansas City, MO, Charles David Spencer (Traci) of Edmond, OK, his grandchildren, AnnaMarie Glenda Jewell Spencer, Noah Jonathan Spencer, Cory Dunavan Spencer, Albert Jack David Spencer, Sheridan Renae Spencer, Sophie Renae Spencer, his nephew, William “Will” McDowell Blaik, Jr. (Sherri) of Oklahoma City, and his niece, Catherine “Katie” Spencer (Blaik) James (John) of Oklahoma City.
