She graduated from Kansas State University in 1941 with a degree in Home Economics. She enjoyed volunteering with May Avenue Methodist Church and at the Oklahoma City Zoo, where her husband, veterinarian Dr. William D. Bowerman, cared for many of the large animals.
She is survived by her children Ann and Don Faught, Jane Bowerman, and Susan and Ken Hammond; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Her sister Shirley Brower Trotter preceded her in death. Family will receive visitors at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 10 2013, at Memorial Park Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery.
