Jacquelyn F Smith

Jacqueline Louise Smith, 93, of Oklahoma City, entered into rest quite unexpectedly, at her residence late Thursday afternoon, January 21, 2021. As she had been ill, with diabetes, Dementia, & Alzheimer's for many years.

She was born May 23, 1927, in Kewanee, Henry County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Corbett Rhey & Kathryn Maud (Cook) Ferguson, the third of five children. She was preceded in death, by an older brother, James Rhey Ferguson, of Oklahoma City, OK, who died in 1983, Gwendolyn Meadows, of Paducah, KY., who passed in 2015 & Charles William Ferguson, II, of Oklahoma City, OK, having passed in 2018 & Bruce Eldon Ferguson, of Franklin, TN., having passed in 2015.

Jacqueline married 1st, Billy Morris Hester, on November 23, 1944, in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky. To this union, she was the mother of all her five children, with only the four whom today survive her. Her oldest son; Morris Rhey Hester, passed away in 2014, in Bowling Green, KY.

She married 2nd, Robert N. Smith, of Oklahoma City, OK, of whom she married on May 13, 1974, in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were married for 27, wonderful years, until his untimely death on Oct. 5, 2001. They both were regular members of the Prague Baptist Church, in Prague, OK.

For most of her life, Jacqueline was the mother of her five children, but when she left Kentucky, she then moved to Oklahoma City, where she became a driven working woman. She was employed with the Lady Classen Cafeteria, as well as the Queen Anne Cafeteria, for 16 years of her life. It is there, she met her future husband, Robert N. Smith. Once married, they moved onward to Prague, OK., where they lived for 17 years, until 1993, when they moved back to the Oklahoma City area. As they lived very happily, until his untimely death in 2001.

Surviving are her four children: Dan Hester & wife, Phyllis of Paducah, KY., Mark Hester & wife, Sherrie, of Salt Lake City, UT., Kathy & husband, Gary Walker, of Warr Acres, OK., & Jess Hester & wife, Catherine, of Edmond, OK. Also surviving; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, & 5 great-great grandchildren.

We wish to thank everyone who took care of her needs daily at St. Ann's Nursing Home & Storey Oaks Memory Care Center in Oklahoma City, & Tradition Health Hospice for all her care since 2015.

We want to thank the various individuals who are carrying our Mother to her final resting place. These Pallbearers are: Jason Walker, Brian Walker, Eddie Walker, Ben Williams. Dathan Shades, & Craig Ferguson.

A visitation service will be held, Monday evening January 25, 2021, from 6-8 pm. She will be at the Memorial Park Funeral Home, her (Memorial Service), will be held January 26, 2021 11:00 a.m, Tuesday at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 13313 N. Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK., 73131. Entombment will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum, 6001 Northwest Grand Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK., 73118. Arrangements will be made by Memorial Park Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Funeral Home.
