

James Jordan Trotter, 93, of Oklahoma City passed away September 19, 2011. He was born on January 5, 1918 in Oklahoma City, grew up in Monett, MO and returned to Oklahoma City where he owned and operated Oklahoma Oil Maps, Inc. for 38 years.
Jim, also affectionately known as “Mr. T”, was an avid golfer and OU football fan. One of the highlights of his life was when he was honored on Owen field as the one of the longest living season ticket holders. He was very grateful for all the love and support from his many friends in the Lighthouse water aerobics class, his kind neighbors and special friends, Linda Stone and William Alexander.
He was married to Jimmie Ruth Brazil of Oklahoma City and they had one son, James Robert Trotter; two grandchildren, James Robert Trotter, II, of Nashville, TN, and Peggy Amanda Trotter of Tulsa, OK; and a great-granddaughter, Kelsey Trotter of Tulsa, OK. He also had a nephew, Lewis “Bud” McBride of Phoenix, AZ and a niece, Sandy Peterson, of Casper, WY.
As a lieutenant in World War II, he served with the 91st Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion and with the 209th Antiaircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion (Self-Propelling), in the Philippine Islands, as well as several other Pacific Islands and Japan and ten months in the Continental United States. He commanded antiaircraft units up to battery strength, directed and supervised the administration, training and tactical employment for units of 134 men and was responsible for the employment in combat of 40 millimeter and 50 caliber self-propelling guns. He also directed and controlled tactical employment of units in combat and evacuated intelligence, estimated situations, formulated decisions, and maintained communication.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park from 9am to 8pm, Friday. Funeral services will be 2pm, Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel.
