Johnnie Renee Berry Stuart

Johnnie Renee (Berry) Stuart was born in Walters, Oklahoma to John and Glennell Berry on December 22, 1955 and, with husband and daughters by her side, passed to heaven from her home in Grass Valley, California on May 24, 2011. She had been fighting a courageous battle with breast cancer for nine years.

After graduating from Walters High School in 1974 and briefly attending Oklahoma State University, she began working as a Legal Secretary in Wichita Falls and Dallas, Texas. She met her husband, James, in Dallas and they were married in Waco, Texas on June 12, 1982. They soon relocated to Austin, Texas where they resided for 26 years and raised two beautiful daughters. In 2009, Renee and James relocated to Grass Valley, California to enjoy another chapter of life and the beauty of the west.

Renee was truly a bright light to everyone she knew and unforgettable to everyone she met. She was deeply devoted to her family, positively mentoring her daughters at every step in their lives. She will be deeply missed by all of the many people she has touched and loved. Left in mourning are her husband James, daughters Grace (22)and Kari (20), mother Glennell Berry and sister Sandra Montayne of Walters, Oklahoma, two nieces, a nephew, several cousins and a host of close friends, all who loved her dearly. She will always be in our hearts.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 11am to 12:30pm. A graveside service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Memorial Park Cemetery with a reception to follow in Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel.
