

Joe lived a long and meaningful life marked by hard work, friendship, and an appreciation for the simple things that brought him joy. He will be remembered for his quick wit, easygoing nature, and the kindness he extended to those around him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Capitol Hill High School, Joe was a standout athlete and member of the school's basketball team. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping lead Capitol Hill to Class 2A State Basketball Championships in 1954, an achievement he cherished throughout his life. Following high school, he continued his education at Central State University, where he earned his college degree.
For more than 30 years, Joe worked as a computer programmer. He took great pride in his work and earned the respect of colleagues and friends through his dedication, intelligence, and strong work ethic.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Joe was an avid supporter of the Oklahoma Sooners and rarely missed an opportunity to follow his favorite teams. Whether watching a game, discussing sports with friends, or reliving memorable moments from seasons past, sports remained a constant source of enjoyment throughout his life. Yet, his favorite athletes were always his own children and grandchildren. Joe took immense pride in their accomplishments and found great joy in cheering them on from the sidelines, in the stands, or from home. He rarely missed an opportunity to follow their games and activities, and his family knew him as one of their biggest supporters and proudest fans.
Golf was one of Joe's greatest passions. He spent countless hours on the course enjoying friendly competition and camaraderie with fellow golfers. His love for the game led him to become an active member of the Pan America Golf Association Oklahoma Chapter, where he formed lasting friendships and shared his enthusiasm for the sport.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Janelle Robinson; his son, Brad Robinson and wife Lora; the mother of his children, Evelyn Robinson; his granddaughter, Cooper Soots and husband Cody; his grandsons, Brooks Robinson and Jackson Robinson and wife Chloe; his great-granddaughter, Archer Evelyn Soots; his nephew, Grant Robinson and wife Judy; as well as many other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Neal Robinson and Bonnie Robinson; and his siblings, Thelma Basham, Neal Robinson, Ray Robinson, Troy Robinson, and Joan Squires.
Joe will be remembered fondly and greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Joe appreciated good company, a good story, and the many conversations and memories shared with family and friends over the years. His sense of humor, independent spirit, and warm presence will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Graveside Service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, US, on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 am.
