

Karen Wells Fisher went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2026. Karen was born July 10, 1942, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Capitol Hill and was always proud of being a Southsider. Karen was the daughter of H.G. (Pete) and Geneva Wells who were prominent members of the Capitol Hill Community. Karen was known for her athleticism and beauty. In high school Karen played tennis and volleyball and was a cheerleader and twirler. After High School Karen was a contestant in the Miss Oklahoma pageant. Karen earned her certificate as a paralegal through the University of Oklahoma. Karen married Jack Fisher, an attorney, and they practiced law together for almost 50 years.
Karen was an avid reader of historical fiction, geography, animals and loved maps. She played several musical instruments including her beloved baby grand piano. Karen spent a lot of her time singing and dancing to a wide variety of songs. In her final days she still sang old gospel songs and danced to Michael Jackson. She and Jack filled their home with beautiful antiques and dishes, which she always treasured. Decorating her home was a labor of love, fueled by passion and a natural ability to create beauty wherever she lived. This extended to the floral arrangements and green foliage found both inside and outside her home. She and Jack loved the Sooners and the OKC Thunder and followed them religiously. Karen loved games of all kinds and had a competitive nature. She spent countless hours playing dominoes, cards, and board games, as a young child and in turn played with her children and grandchildren. She also spent countless hours playing golf and tennis with her children. Her competitive drive runs deep through all those who loved her.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband Jack Fisher. She is survived by her four children Joe Fisher (Penny), Shawna Vente (Robert), Vance Fisher (Jeanine), and Wells Fisher (Tara), thirteen grandchildren, Harrison Fisher (Natalie), Lauryl O’Brien (Trace), Ashley Vente, Cade Vente, Sadie Vente, Emma Vente, Olivia Vente, Tristan Fisher (Sydney), Colton Fisher, Mia Fisher (Mikey), Tas Fisher, Jude Fisher and Zeppelin Fisher, 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10am, Friday, May 22, 2026 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
