Katherine I. Alexander (Katie McMillan) of Oklahoma City, was the daughter of Charles E. and Sarah V. McMillan, born in St. Joseph, Missouri on January 22, 1925. She graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, then enrolled and graduated from Oklahoma City University.

She married William O. Alexander on August 23, 1947. She was proceeded in death by her husband William O. Alexander and her three sons: William O. Alexander Jr., John D. Alexander II, and James M. Alexander. She is survived by her daughter-in-law Lynne C. Alexander and Kathy Alexander, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jeannie and Chris LeBlanc and their children Kamber and Korbyn; Julie and Taber Leblanc and their children Hunter, Teagen, Drake, and Brinklee; Janna and Josh Koehn and their children Kate and Hazel; Jill and Justin Hodges and their children Prestyn, Keaton, and Deacon; Jacey and Cort Massey and their children Gage and Cale; Mary and Robert Hyde and their children Julian and Scarlet.

While at OCU she was a member of Phi Delta sorority with later affiliated with Alpha Chi Omega. She was the Business Manager of the UCO Newspaper during her Junior year and was Editor of the UCO Year Book her Senior year. After graduation she was employed in the Society Department of The Oklahoma Publishing Company.

She has served as president of many groups. Some of which are: Nichols Hills School PTA, PEO Sisterhood- Chapter AI, Tuesday Book Club, Phi Gam Dames, Queensberry Club, Twentieth Century Club and Early American Glass Club.

She was formerly a member of Kiwanis Ladies, Salvation Army Auxiliary, Lyric Guild, Red Bud Woman's Club, Oklahoma Museum of Art Center, Circle Club, and Oklahoma Symphony. While her husband was with the First National Bank, she organized and served as the first President for the First National Officers Ladies Club. She was a member of the OCU Board of Trustees, OCU Alumni Board, and the OCU Library Society (now the OCU Societies). In 1981, she was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award from OCU. She also was awarded her 50 year Alumni Pin from Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.

Katie was a member of the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church where she served as President of the Woman's Group.

She was an avid collector of antiques, china, silver, cut glass, furs, and porcelain dolls. She enjoyed playing bridge and was always up for a game.

A memorial will be held on April 5th at 11am at the Nichols Hills United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, UCO, or Alpha Chi Omega Sorority.
