Leroy was a wonderful friend to all those at the Saturday Morning Breakfast Club. I will never forget him asking a young man, "Are you happy today?" Getting a mumbled yes, Leroy added, "Try telling your face!" I know he's hosting a new group up in Heaven...

My condolences to Uncle Leroy's Family. Uncle Leroy was very supported during the passing of my beloved father " Millard Luther Bridges". He was always the leader for the Bridges Family in gathering reunions. I am so proud to read all the accomplishments Uncle Leroy integrated in his life and passion.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child.  My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

You don't know me, but Leroy Bridges changed my life in 1991 when he provided a $500 scholarship for Public Service which allowed me to finish my degree at Oklahoma City University. That degree gave me self confidence to succeed in several opportunities after that. I remember him with affection even tho we only met once or twice.

Ellen I'm so very sorry to hear of Leroy's passing. It's about 9 o'clock Saturday evening and I just saw it on Facebook. I would have been to the service if I had known. My prayers will be with you. I thought so very much of Leroy. We seemed to always get things done and have a laugh while doing it. Stay strong. Love...Major Larry Owen OHP (ret.)

Leroy was a visionary who believed in sharing his knowledge and expertise with the next generation, as one of his students, I am thankful for his mentorship

Leroy's love for his fellow man was best exemplified in his compassionate support of education and mental health.  His political activism brought people of all persuations together to advance these and other worthy causes.  The State of Oklahoma and its people and institutions owe him much.  We have lost a truly remarkable stateman and true friend.

Leroy always had a positive attitude.  Was available for advice and support.  His generous soul was pervasive and his enlightened understanding of the political and cultural issues I worked with was not only helpful, but crucial.  You were much loved, Leroy.  Rest well while we celebrate your enthusiastic and inspirational life.  I write this with much respect and gratitude.

Leroy was a teacher for so many generations. He was a wonderful Democrat, in the full sense: he was strong for his Party, and engaged in discourse with respect and knowledge no matter what political emphasis his conversant held. He was warm and always 'fired up'. He was a faithful leader for the most difficult of challenges: the mentally ill, education, the poor....

Leroy was loved by so many.  We will miss him.  He served in the spirit of Oklahoma!!

Leroy & his "Political Junkies" passion have been a tremendous vehicle for promoting good government in this state. I hope somebody will step up to the plate and carry on.  Oklahoma very much needs a forum for all political viewpoints to come together and sort things out.  Leroy's gang was such a forum.  RIP Leroy and, as we say in the Navy may you have "Fair Winds and Following Seas."

Leroy was a true friend and advocate for the mentally ill. During my tenure as Chairman for the Mental Health Committee in the Oklahoma House of Representatives he helped shepherd important legislation from an idea to the Governor's Desk. I will truly miss Leroy. There is another bright star shining in heaven. Rep. Al Lindley, District 93, Retired 1996- 2008.

You could always count on Leroy being at every AAPC conference . . . certainly was at every one I attended as a board member over twenty-five years. Always brought a smile to my face knowing he was rooting for everyone involved in national politics from Oklahoma, Democrats and Republicans alike.  Rest in Peace my friend!
