World War II veteran Clinton Lewis Ewell, age 94, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020.

Lewis was born February 7, 1926 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. Lewis joined the US Navy at 17, when his mother signed for his enlistment. He served in the Pacific aboard the USS Aylwin, which engaged in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa during his time on board, as well surviving two typhoons.

Lewis enjoyed a full career in the radio department of OG&E in Oklahoma City, beginning in 1948 and retiring in 1987.

Lewis was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Joan Ewell, who passed away on June 5, 2020. He is survived by his sister, Faye Ewell Rathbun of Tucson, Arizona; three daughters: Cynthia and husband Dale Richardson of Noble, OK, Jennifer Weeden of Blackwell, OK, and Deborah Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren: Nicole Hale of Moore, OK, Ethan Waggoner of Noble, OK, Amanda Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK, Rebekah and husband Jason Wimer of Ponca City, OK and Rachel and husband Kurtis Kirk of Ponca City, OK; and five great-grandchildren: Karsyn and Kaleigh Hale, Caitlin and Scarlett Wimer, and Brittan Kirk.

Lewis will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Joan in a private ceremony at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
