

Conway, Lloyd George, 88, longtime resident of Oklahoma City, died May 22, 2013. He was born January 16, 1925 in Frederick, OK. Lloyd is survived by his wife Alberta of 66 years, whom he loved and adored; children, Janice (Preston) Conway Dane of Flower Mound, TX and Alan Lloyd (Christy) Conway of Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Kasey (Jose “Pepe” ) Gomez, Matthew Conway, Warren Dane, and Alexander Dane; great grandchildren, Diego Gomez, Liliana Gomez, Calista Gomez, and Daniel Gomez; brother, Russell Conway; sister, Robie Boozer a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Lloyd dearly loved his family. Lloyd was in the U.S. Marines during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre of War. He was in the battle of Iwo Jima. When the Japanese surrendered, he was in the initial landing for the Occupation of Japan. He graduated with a BS Degree from Oklahoma State University and worked at B.F. Goodrich Tire Company for 22 years, at 65, he retired from Goodyear Tire Company after 15 years. Lloyd spent 49 years in the tire industry.
He was a member of the Village Baptist Church for many years. In his earlier years, he taught Boys Sunday School classes at Village and other churches. He was a Director of the Senior Adult Sunday School Department and a member of the Prime Time Choir. Lloyd loved to serve the Lord.
A memorial service, followed by a reception will be held Saturday, May 25, 2013, at 12:00p.m., at Village Baptist Church, 10600 N. May Ave OKC, OK.
