Born in Long Beach, California, to Ruth Mary and Loyd Seibert Lewallen and a year later moved with her family to Oklahoma City in 1934. There, her father successfully established Allen’s 5 & 10, a popular chain of stores. Raised in the Lutheran faith, Lois attended First Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City, where she first met the young man who would become her husband of seventy years.
Lois graduated from Classen High School and went on to attend Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State University) in Stillwater, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.
On August 7, 1955, Lois married the love of her life, Alfred Philip “Phil” Parduhn. Just ten days later, Phil was deployed to Germany with the U.S. Army’s 87th Infantry Regiment as a forward observer. During that time, Lois learned patience and resilience. If the story was brought up, she would jokingly recall Phil’s words at his departure; “Lois, remember—absence makes the heart grow fonder,” to which she would playfully reply, “More like out of sight, out of mind.”
After Phil’s return, Lois encouraged him to pursue his passion for engineering at the University of Oklahoma. While he studied, she worked in the office of an oil company to support his studies and their growing family.
In 1961, Lois gave birth to their daughter Diana, followed by sons Steve in 1962 and Jeff in 1965. She would often say that having children and raising them in a Christian home was her greatest accomplishment and joy in life.
At age 40, Lois focused her artistic talents on painting by producing beautiful scenes of the American Southwest. She created many exceptional pieces on a variety of subjects before arthritis would make painting too difficult.
Lois remained active in her community as a dedicated member of the Classen High School Alumni, helping organize reunions and social events with a close-knit group of friends affectionately known as “The YaYa Girls.” Though quiet by nature, she loved to dance. Lois and Phil were longtime members of the Young Men’s Club and the Regency Dance Club, dancing well into their 70s. When she could pull Phil away from work, the couple enjoyed traveling the world with dear friends known as “The Fun Bunch.”
Above all, Lois was a kind, gentle, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who left a profound and lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Phil (June 24, 2026), her parents Ruth and Loyd Lewallen and her brother Robert Lewallen.
Lois is survived by her sisters Sandra O’Brien and Linda Baker, and by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Diana Parduhn; Jeff and Monica Parduhn, Caleb Parduhn, Madison Parduhn; Steve and Linda Parduhn, Brandon and Hannah Parduhn, Sebian and Bailey Parduhn McFalls, Brooklyn and Foster McFalls; Blake Lippert and Gregory Neff; Myles and Tori Lippert Kristof, Kennedy, Khloe, and Kruz Kristof; Parker and Laura Lippert Rittenberry, Jax and Price Rittenberry.
