

She was born in Dora, NM, on July 20, 1930 to Revis and Louise Bennett. She was the 2nd of their 4 children. On January 16, 1948 she married Ronald Kennedy in Hobbs, NM.
Genise began her career with Cities Service Oil Company in Hobbs, NM where she served as secretary for the Division Superintendent. Genise and Ron moved to Dallas, TX where she worked for Texas Oil and Gas. Her outstanding ability, work ethic, and attention to detail earned her the role of secretary for Vice President of Texas Oil and Gas. Health reasons forced her into an early retirement from a very successful career.
Genise and Ron had one daughter, Karissa, and relocated to Edmond in 1979. Genise and Ron enjoyed traveling, especially to Oklahoma State football games. Season ticket holders and Posse members they followed the Cowboys faithfully, even to the infamous Sun Bowl in 1987. Genise was preceded in death by Ron in 1996. She then moved back to New Mexico to care for her mother and father in Ruidoso and eventually returned to live in Edmond.
She is survived by her daughter Karissa and her husband Jerrad Hill and their two children Lauren and Mason; her three siblings, Audevee Bennett, Bernita Johnson, and Kay Bennett; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 2pm, Thursday, November 29 at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel in Oklahoma City.
