

Louise L. (Mitchner) Terry was born to Rev. William G. & Verlean (Cole) Davis on Dec. 31, 1941, in Birdseye, Ark, and passed away July 2, 2011. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Jonesboro, Ark, and attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. While living in Jonesboro, she was the first African American to attend a private business college and went on to become the first African American employed by the Social Security Administration. Louise lived most of her adult life in Oklahoma City. She was a lifetime member of the NAACP and an avid community worker. She continued her humanitarian endeavors by working for the Social Security Administration in Oklahoma City, and retired from the Moore office in 2002. Louise was a long time member of Quayle United Methodist Church and more recently a member of Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church. She is preceded in glory by her parents and her brothers, Oliver and Eddie. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Rev. Roy Terry; her four loving sons: Donald R. Davis, George F. Mitchner, Kevin L. and Eric Mitchner; seven beautiful grandchildren: Gerald Taylor, Kyanne Mitchner, Mariah Mitchner, Anthony McDonald, Thomas Mitchner, Joshua Mitchner and Myeashia Mitchner; siblings: James Davis of Little Rock, Ark, Claudia Shaw, Willie Shavage, William Davis, Jr., and Debbie Hutchins, all of Oklahoma City; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members. A funeral service will be 1pm, Monday, July 11, 2011, at Baggerley Funeral Home Chapel, 930 South Broadway, Edmond, OK.
