Margaret Niblock Harkins

Margaret Harkins was born July 22, 1920 in Concord, NC, and died Feb. 12, 2011. She was one of seven children of Zeta and Franklin Niblock. Margaret and her husband Jim had 63 happy years together before his death in 2006. She lost her son Jim in 2007.

Margaret’s life centered around her family, her church, and her community. For many years, she enjoyed teaching Sunday School for children, youth and adults. She was also very active in Presbyterian Women. One of her most treasured activities was serving with her husband as a host family for international students and visitors to Oklahoma City. She was an avid reader and loved sharing book conversations with family, neighbors and friends.

She is survived by her children Beth and Gary Pribulsky of Dallas, TX; Sarah and Phillip Holbrook, of Edmond; Dan Harkins of Oklahoma City, as well as five grandchildren: Amy and Kevin Flick of Dallas, TX and their son Stanton; Ryan Holbrook of Edmond; Lindsay Holbrook of Ft. Collins, CO; Sarah Harkins of Guyaquil, Ecuador; and Garrett Harkins of Oklahoma City.

Services under the direction of Memorial Park Funeral Home will be held at Central Presbyterian Church, 50th and N. May, at 2:00 PM, Wed., Feb. 16th, 2011.
