I have so many things in my home that were purchased while Marilyn and I made shopping trips to used furniture stores, antique stores, etc.  We kept going to Rockport and Sinton because we got some really good deals.  I first met Marilyn in a watercolor class in Port A.  I only lived there 2 or 3 years, but found from the first time we met, we clicked.  Rest in peace, Marilyn.  I think of you often.

Marilyn was a year behind me in school, in the same class with my sister Margaret.  I remember going with her to American Legion Jr. Auxiliary meetings, because Alice was so enthusiastic!  Marilyn was a bridesmaid in my wedding and continued to be a person I have loved all these years, though not having much chance to see her.  I remember visiting Glenn's parents at their cabin in Colorado and having such a wonderful time, many years ago.  Marilyn was so gentle and so sweet, with such a beautiful smile to go with those beautiful eyes.  The world is better for her having been here.

Dear Glenn and family...I am so very sorry to have missed the services in Edmond, but I was in Texas for my grand daughters graduation and just got back to OKC today.  You know how much I loved Marilyn and I treasure the fun times we had together in OKC and Port A. We never once saw Marilyn without a friendly, warm greeting and it was always with a lovely smile and gracious "Hello" no matter where we were.  She was a kind heart and gentle lady that will be missed by many more people than she might have guessed.

She fought valiantly for life and now she has no more pain or stress.  May God place her in a special Garden for those who so earned peace where she can watch over Glenn and know he is well even without her loving care.

Not knowing Marilyn but listening to all the wonderful stories and friends was heartwarming to me. My family really has a special place in our hearts for Doc & Bess-they were exceptional people and so devoted to each other so much like Glen & Marilyn  and now there has been another angel sent to be with them. Back when we moved to Port A, Doc and Bess Leonard were two neat folks we noticed.  They were dynamic, caring and just a good example of a life well lived.  When Glenn and Marilyn moved here we felt the same way about them as we observed their devotion to each other, their friends, their church and their community.  Marilyn leaves us for awhile, but her example lives on. Glenn, Port Aransas' collective arms are around you and your family.

 I still remember our time with Keep Port Aransas Beautiful.You were a very able President and from you I learned that you can make a difference in your community even at the smallest level.

I will always cherish the fun times we shared through many, many volunteers hours spent together. Marilyn was a dear friend to me and Pappy, and the thought of her will always bring a smile to my face. I thank God we had her in our lives.

I felt Marilyn was there to greet us when we moved to Port A. She seemed not only to care about our shared interest in protecting the environment and the challenges they presented our little island but a true desire to make us newcomers feel welcome. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of need.  I have greatly enjoyed the Wednesday morning breakfasts and look forward to seeing you there again.  Please find strength as God always has a plan.

We will so miss Marilyn's welcome and her friendly smile when we head to Port Aransas each year to enjoy the beach together with her family and close friends.      We know she is an angel in heaven now and the stars are brighter because she was here and now she is truly home, pain free. I was a couple of years behind Marilyn in high school and I always admired her.  What a great smile and personality.  My thoughts and prayers are with Glenn and the children.
