Marta Ann Ryan

Marta graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1952 and shortly thereafter met her husband, Robert “Bob” Ryan. They married in 1953 while Bob was in the U.S. Navy stationed at Moffet Field in California.

In 1954, Marta and Bob returned to Hutchinson to raise their family. By the end of 1962 they had four boys and two girls, and the family relocated to Oklahoma City in 1967.

After years as a homemaker, Marta obtained a real estate license in the 1970s and worked for many years as a successful real estate agent for Harold Jones Realtors.

Marta was an avid reader and enjoyed doing the crossword and other word games in the daily newspaper. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, shopping, and she was a gifted cook and baker – her cookie jar was rarely without a supply of fresh cookies. Marta was a great conversationalist and a talented golfer. Marta and Bob were longtime members of Twin Hills Golf & Country Club and River Oaks Golf Club.

Marta was predeceased by her parents; brother, Al; husband, Bob; and daughter, Sherry. She is survived by her children, Randy (Kim); Pat (Debbie); Marty; Mike; and Kelly, as well as five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The family is forever grateful to Jonna Rhoades for the exceptional care and friendship she gave to Marta in the last years of her life.

A Funeral Mass will be held at The Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist in Edmond on Tuesday, December 2 at 1:00 p.m.
