

Martha Lee “Sue” Linn, age 85 of Edmond Oklahoma, died peacefully August 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 25, 1938 in Las Cruces, New Mexico and was a daughter of the late Luther and Dewey Sizemore. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her 10 siblings, L.A. Sizemore, Maurine Graves, Juanita Hutchins, Lucille Jenkins, Joe Sizemore, Gene Sizemore, Betty Hafelfinger, Joyce Gibson, James Sizemore and Donald Sizemore.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, R.V. Linn, three daughters, Lori Linn Purser and husband Craig, Lisa Marie Denard and husband Doug, Anita Sue Woods and husband Tom, and five grandchildren, Zackery Woods and fiancée Madison Eckerson, Rustin Purser and wife Abbey, Cassidy Zoumhani and husband Hamza, Jeremy Woods and wife Madison, all of Edmond and Reagan Purser of Dallas TX, sister-in-laws Jeanie Sizemore of Amarillo TX, Peggy Linn of Damascus AR, Dixie Linn of Edmond OK, and Reta Linn Tharp of Clinton, Arkansas as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Sue’s early childhood was filled with love and activity being the youngest of 11. Her family moved from Las Cruces to Visalia CA at the age of 2, and to Shasta CA at the age of 12, and finally to Augusta KS at the age of 16. It was there in Kansas at the tender age of 19 where Sue met the love of her life, R.V. Linn. After a short courtship, they married on June 20, 1959 and set up a new home together in Wichita KS.
R.V. and Sue lived in Wichita, KS for over 25 years where they raised their daughters. Sue was a stay-at-home mom supporting all her girls’ sports and activities. She served in numerous volunteer roles including home room mom for the girls, President of the PTA, and Girl Scout leader. She was a faithful member of Countryside Christian Church, a local Realtor and owned and operated a Suntana Salon.
Sue was a wonderful helpmate to R.V. during his career, moving several times including six months spent in London. They were officially transferred to St. Louis MO in 1988 where they lived for twelve years making many wonderful friends and memories. They were season ticket holders to the Rams football and the Cardinals Baseball teams and enjoyed Broadway plays and concerts at the beautiful Fox Theatre. Upon retirement in 2000, they moved to Edmond to be close to their daughters and grandchildren.
Sue supported and loved her family above all else. Her home was always the place the children and grandchildren gathered for special events and holidays. In retirement, she loved to go out to breakfast and try new restaurants. She was an avid reader and visited the library weekly reading up to five books per week. She loved to study the bible, participating in dozens of Women’s studies and Wednesday night classes. Sue enjoyed playing games with her family and Crossings Game Day friends.
Sue’s lasting legacy will be that of a devoted wife, mother and Grammy to her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service for Sue will be held Tuesday, August 15th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum, 13400 North Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73131.
