Mary A. Simpson

She married Kenneth R. Simpson on April 28, 1956 and they were married for 46 years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R. Simpson; her father, William Ernest Whitmire; her mother, Eunice Whitmire; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her son, Randy Simpson of OKC; her daughter, Sandy MacKenzie of Yukon, OK; three grandchildren, Luke Simpson of OKC, Sheridan Carlton and husband Michael of Yukon, OK, and Shane Pritchard and wife Kelsi of OKC; five great-grandchildren, Landon Carlton, Lainie Carlton, Leighton Carlton, Abel Pritchard, and Conley Pritchard; two brothers, James Whitmire of Crowley, TX and Doyle Whitmire and wife Grace of Durant, OK; three sisters, Bobbie Phelps of Silo, OK, Lois Finn and husband Jerry of Southlake, TX, and Laverne Barnes and husband Lindsey of Bristow, OK and a host of nephews and nieces whom she loved very much.

Mary worked 33 years for the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, retiring in 1993. She was a member of Village Baptist Church for many years. She attended regularly until her health would not allow.

Her love was her children and grandchildren, reading her Bible, genealogy, watching OU football and golf. She was a great mom and an excellent cook. She will be missed more than word can describe. Our world will never be the same without her.

Visitation for Mary will be from 2pm – 8pm on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel officiated by Reverend Jerry Finn.
