It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Matthew Aaron Watts, 25, of McLoud, Oklahoma, on March 29, 2025. Matthew was born on April 15, 1999, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He graduated from Preston High School in 2018 and soon after began his honorable service in the United States Navy, enlisting in 2021.
In 2022, Matthew met the love of his life, Monika Christine Perkins-Watts. Their bond was undeniable, and they became inseparable. The two were married on February 24, 2023, and were blessed with their beautiful son, Rainne, on September 12, 2023. Matthew’s greatest joy was being a father. His love for Rainne was immeasurable, and he cherished every moment spent with his family.
Matthew was a man who enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He often found peace in the quiet of morning sunrises, sipping his coffee on the porch. He was the cook in the family, delighting in making breakfast—especially his famous biscuits and sausage gravy, loaded with cheese. A lover of old cars, Matthew had a particular fondness for cat-eye trucks, and he enjoyed spending his free time outdoors, fishing and making memories with his loved ones.
A man with a big heart and an infectious sense of humor, Matthew had an unmatched ability to make people laugh with his silly faces and witty remarks. He was a goofball, and his playful nature was matched only by his deep care for others. His tattoos, especially the ones adorning his hands and arms, were a testament to his unique spirit.
Matthew was selfless—always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need, even when facing challenges of his own. Though life had sometimes been tough, he faced it with remarkable courage, warmth, and strength. His friends were incredibly dear to him, and he treasured the bonds he formed with them. While Matthew could be stubborn at times, those who knew him understood that his heart was always in the right place.
Matthew’s memory will live on through his beloved wife, Monika, and their son, Rainne; his family and friends; and all those who were fortunate enough to know the love, laughter, and light he brought into the world. His legacy will be carried on by the love he gave and the joy he brought to those around him.
He is survived by his wife, Monika Perkins-Watts; Son, Rainne Aaron Watts; Father, Joe Aaron Watts; Siblings, Katlin Rooster and husband Steven, Bellamee Avery Watts, and Zakary Grace Logue; Nephew, Ollie Rooster; Niece, Harper Rooster; and grandmother, Sharon Watts.
A celebration of Matthew’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 7th, 2025 at Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 13313 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Matthew will forever be missed but never forgotten.
