Max Edwin Crandall passed from this world to be with our Lord on January 13, 2019 at the age of 85. He was loved so much by his family and friends and touched lives everywhere he went with his charm and humor.
Max was born in Enid, OK where he attended school, and met his wife, Ann Corry, in typing class in Middle School. Max graduated with an Engineering and a Business degree from Oklahoma A&M University (now Oklahoma State University). He pledged Beta Theta Pi, where he developed lifelong friends. After Max and Ann married, they had their four children; each born in a different state (Oklahoma, New Mexico, Missouri, and Kansas). They eventually settled down back in Oklahoma. Max spent the majority of his career as a Branch Manager, P.E., at Johnson Controls in Oklahoma City. Max loved being a lifelong member of Rotary Club, and would even attend meetings while he was traveling and bring his children and grandchildren to meetings when they were visiting him in OK. He treasured his time serving as a deacon and an elder at his church, First Christian Church of Edmond. Max enjoyed ringing the Salvation Army bell during Christmas and would invite his grandchildren along to help when they were together. Max loved traveling with Ann to the mountains and beaches, especially in New Mexico and Florida, where they enjoyed nature and he took beautiful pictures. He was always very social and thrived off of building relationships with people through the Mayfair Dance Club, his weekly men’s breakfasts, a Dinner Club, and countless other activities. He made friends everywhere he went and was always up for a good conversation. Max loved so many things, but most of all, he loved his wife of 65 years, Ann.
Max is survived by his loving wife, Ann Corry Crandall; his son Max James Crandall and wife Luann of Redlands, CA, son Curtis Alan Crandall and wife Cindy of Plano, TX, son Brian Stewart Crandall and Jody Crandall, mother of Cade and Torey, of Stockbridge, MI, and daughter Cynthia Ann Hendershot and husband Robert of Edmond, OK. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren, Pamela Sue Crandall, Max James Crandall II (Jamie), Cade Elliot Crandall, Christina Kimberly Crandall, Torey Lynne Crandall, and Emma Grace Hendershot, and his brother, Robert “Bobby Ray” Crandall of Enid, OK. Max was preceded in death by his parents, Max Raymond and Katie Grace Crandall, and his sister Elizabeth Muir. His kind and loving spirit will forever be missed by all who knew him.
