Maxine O. Keathley, age 86, left us to be with the Lord in the late hours of September 24, 2011. As a longtime member of South Lee United Methodist Church, her passion was being a wife, mother and homemaker.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Keathley; her son, Bobby Keathley; her parents, Ed and Janie Martin; one sister, Willie Michalczyk Overlease and three brothers-in-law, Jack Ellard, Mike Michalczyk and James Overlease.
Surviving family members include her sister Velma Ellard; her daughter, Paula Lockhart and her husband, Bo. Other generations of survivors include her grandson, Jacob Foster and his wife, Amber; their soon-to-be-born son, Jacob Elijah II; her granddaughter, Kristin Scott and her two children, Jayden and Kiana. Nieces and nephews include Marva Ellard, who lovingly cared for Maxine during the final months of her life, Michael Michalczyk and Patricia Michalczyk Carey.
Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 28, 9am-8pm, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Service will be 10am, Thursday, September 29, at Memorial Park Historic Cemetery Chapel.
