He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 27, 1947.
Melvin graduated from Old Classen High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from OSU OKC. He was married to Mary "Irene" Samsel on October 16, 1981.
Melvin worked a career as an IT Director for Oklahoma Society of CPA’s. He had a passion for Working in the yard, being with his family and friends, playing with great grandkids, and being at the lake house spending time with his wife.
He was survived by his wife Mary Irene Samsel of 40 years this October, his daughter Cheri Walker and husband Michael Walker of Yukon, his granddaughter Mikka Testerman and husband Jacob of OKC, and his great grandchildren Avery, Harper, and baby Testerman due February 2022.
A visitation for Melvin will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 30, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Walker, Jacob Testerman, Buddy Oqburn, Denton House, Marvin House, Bill Martin, Randy Smith and Johnny Miller.
