Michael Paul Looper, 50, of Edmond, passed peacefully from this life on Feb 21, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Services have been entrusted to the care of Memorial Park Funeral Home and a service celebrating Mike’s life will be held at 10am, Saturday, Feb 27th at the funeral home chapel at 13313 N. Kelley Ave. OKC, OK 73131. Due to covid restrictions, the service will also be livestreamed on the funeral home facebook page at the following link: facebook.com/memorialparkokc/
Mike was born on Sept 9, 1970 in OKC to Larry and Sandy (Carson) Looper. He was raised in OKC graduating from Putnam City Original in 1988. He joined the US Army and was stationed out of Ft. Bragg, NC where his grandpa was a Colonel. Mike was a member of the highly decorated 82nd Airborne and served several tours in the Gulf War.
Mike’s life changed forever in 1998 when he met the love of his life, Jennifer Peters. Mike finally convinced her to marry him in 1999. Mike and Jennifer raised four children together: Jordan, Jacob, Kobe, and Jesse. In 2000, Mike accepted a position with Globe Life Insurance where he most recently served as the Quality Assurance Manager. He made many wonderful friends there during his two decades of employment.
Mike enjoyed shooting guns, supporting his Pittsburg Steelers and Texas Rangers, and he was a tattoo enthusiast. Mike was an easy going guy who was always the life of the party. His positive attitude and friendly demeanor made him easy to be around. He always went out of his way to make others laugh and he was constantly coaching those around him to be the best they could be. While he enjoyed the freedom he found on the back of his bike, nothing made Mike happier than being surrounded by his family who he proudly called his “CTP” or Crazy Town Posse. Mike packed more good times and great memories into his short 50 years of life and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Mike Looper was proceeded in death by his mother Sandy Frye and his grandmother Lou Carson.
Left behind to carry on Mike’s legacy of selflessness and positivity are his wife of 21 years, Jennifer Looper; four children: Jordan Looper and wife Whitney, Jacob Looper and wife Tori, Kobe Looper, and Jesse Looper; father, Larry Don Looper; grandchildren: Amelia, Emmery, and Liam Looper, as well as Blakely, Sloan, and Parker Looper; siblings: Braden Looper and Ryan Looper; as well as his mother-in-law Julie Whitford and husband Johnny.
