Michelle Renee' Determan, age 55, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 1, 1970, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michelle lived a life that was filled with joy, determination, unwavering faith, and unconditional love.
Born with Down syndrome, Michelle never let anything define her except her beautiful spirit. She had a heart that welcomed everyone, a smile that could light up the USA, and a joy for life that was truly contagious.
Michelle attended Casady School and graduated from Northeast High School. She proudly participated in vocational programs through the Foundation for the Disabled for more than 20 years, as well as Dale Rogers Training Center and EARC Supported Work Programs. One of her greatest joys was earning her own paycheck, a source of pride that reflected her strong work ethic and independence.
Michelle embraced life with enthusiasm. She loved swimming, roller skating, riding her bike, spending time outdoors, and sitting around a roaring fire with family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and proudly participated in the Special Olympics for many years. Whether it was enjoying a great burger, sharing a bowl of popcorn during a favorite movie, or celebrating holidays with those she loved, Michelle found happiness in life's simple moments. Her birthday was always one of her favorite days, surrounded
by family, friends, laughter, and love.
Michelle's faith was the foundation of her life. She was a devoted member of Portland Baptist Church, where she found strength, comfort, and fellowship. Her gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for God were evident to everyone who knew her.
Michelle leaves behind countless family members, friends, caregivers, and a community whose lives were forever changed by her kindness, resilience, and infectious smile. Her legacy is not measured by the years she lived, but by the love she gave so freely and the joy she brought to everyone blessed enough to know her.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Michelle is now whole, at peace, and in the loving arms of her Savior. Fly high, sweet angel. Your beautiful smile, your laughter, and your unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever. Until we meet again, you will be deeply loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
