Mildred Thompson Long Collette, born June 26, 1943, took her final flight Thursday, February 17, 2011, at 12:55pm, and is now in Heaven with those she loved. She fought a courageous 8-year battle which stemmed from a brain aneurysm. Her brother-in-law, Dr. Jim Davidson, will conduct her graveside service 2pm, Saturday, at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mildred graduated from McAlester High School in 1961 and traveled the world with her Air Force husband. She later moved to Edmond, OK, where she made her home for the past 30 years. She was an active member of Henderson Hills Baptist Church of Edmond and the Order of Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jewel & Millie Thompson, and husbands, Harry Long and Don Collette. She is survived by two children, Zona Scholl & husband Rob of Edmond and Chad Long of Dallas; four grandchildren, of whom she was very proud: Amber, Chandra and Ericka Scholl and Zack Long; sister, Mary Davidson & husband Jim of Edmond; several aunts, uncles, nephews and cousins; and many, many friends.
