Nola Pearl Shaffer was born February 19, 1935, in Devol, OK, to parents WH & Maud Abbigail (Skykes) Peery and passed away March 31, 2014. She met her husband, Gene, on a blind date at Cameron University. She enjoyed a career as a dietician for Presbyterian Hospital and then the VA Medical Center. She loved gardening, antiquing, and needlepoint.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Gene Abrams Shaffer; and several siblings. She is survived by her daughters: Lesa Shaffer McDonald, Judy Wepel & husband Michael, and Jan Shaffer; grandchildren: Maggie Elder & husband Paul, Matthew Wepel, and Nicholas Wepel; great-grandchildren Jocelyn and Eli Elder; sister, Edna McGee; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be 2pm-8pm, Wednesday, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1:30pm, Thursday, at Meadowood Baptist Church in Midwest City with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
