Nora Lee “woke up in Heaven” Nov. 11, 2012. She was born in Tuckerman, AR, to William & Louise Hammond, Nov. 21, 1917. She graduated from high school, met and married W.A. “Al” Armstrong in 1936. They had two daughters, Wilma Lee and Gayle. The family moved to OKC in 1942. Nora Lee loved people and was loved by many at Greystone Presbyterian Church, Chapter BF, PEO, and Weight Watchers, where she was a lecturer. She had a unique sense of humor, loved OU football, and Thunder basketball, but must of all, she loved her Lord, her family and friends.
Three years after losing Al in 1981, she married Stephen Ferega, who died in 2010. She moved to the Wellington where she made many new friends and was first runner-up for the Mrs. Wellington pageant.
Nora Lee was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Oneal and Maude Imogene; brother, Bill; and son-in-law, Don Cabaniss. She is survived by daughters, Wilma Cabaniss and Gayler Laster & husband Tony; four grandchildren: Dr. Scot Laster, Jana Sarker, Mark Cabaniss, and Lisa Laster; eight great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; and five step children and their families.
Viewing will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Thursday, 1pm-8pm. Funeral services will be 2pm, Friday, Nov. 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.
