

Orvil Dean Willyerd, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026. He was born on March 20, 1943, in Riverside to Joe and Audry Willyerd. He grew up alongside his younger sister, Barbara, who was born in 1944.
Orvil graduated from Star Spencer High School in 1961 before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. On May 28, 1965, he married the love of his life, Lynda Kaye Ogle, beginning a marriage built on faith, family, and devotion. Together they welcomed two children, Amber in 1971 and Wesley in 1974.
Orvil found joy in the simple things in life. He loved watching old western movies, attending rodeos, traveling, spending time outdoors, and most of all, being with his family. His faith and relationship with God were deeply important to him and guided the way he lived his life. He will be remembered for his steady presence, love for his family, and kind heart.
He is survived by his children, Amber Surber and Wesley Willyerd; grandchildren, Brandt Surber, Aurora Lanzana, Mia Willyerd, and Emma Willyerd; his sister, Barbara; nephews Joe English and John English and their families; niece Renee Poteet and her family; along with many beloved in-laws, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Orvil’s presence will be missed by all who met him throughout his life.
A Visitation for Family & Friends will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home Legacy Chapel, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the Funeral Service at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131. A Catered Reception will be held on May 26, 2026, beginning after the burial to 5:00 pm at the Historic Chapel located inside of Memorial Park Cemetery.
