December 25, 1924October 10, 2019

Peggy Elaine (White) Lyon, age 94, passed to eternal life the morning of October 10, 2019 in Petal, MS.

Peggy was born in Oklahoma City, December 25, 1924 to Oscar Carroll and Laura Belle White. She grew up and received her education in Oklahoma City where she graduated from Classen High School. She was married to Fred Wayne Lyon on February 28, 1943 in Oklahoma City.

After World War II, following Fred's honorable discharge from the US Army as a First Lieutenant on July 29, 1946, they returned to Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. They were employed by Conoco their entire careers, where Peggy worked in Real Property Administration, and retired in 1987.

They were long-time members of the First Presbyterian Church in Ponca City. In retirement, Peggy delivered food for Meals on Wheels, often commenting when she was in her 80's that she was going to take food to the "old people".

Fred and Peggy moved to Bartlesville in 2013, where she cared for him as he declined, suffering from dementia, until he passed away September 17, 2015.

Peggy is survived by two daughters, Kim Ann Braine and Janna Beth Griffin (husband Jim); six grandchildren: Jason Braine, Aaron Lyon, Alex Lyon, Laura Richie, Sarah Craun, and Hannah Hopkins; and nine great-grandchildren: Mikela Lyon, Noah Lyon, Jace Braine, Josiah Richie, Grace Richie, Isaiah Richie, and soon-to-be-born Elisha Richie, Levi Craun, and Luke Craun. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joyce and Bonnie; and one son, Curt Lyon. She met her great-grandchild, pre-born baby of Josh and Hannah Hopkins, when she arrived in Heaven.
