I'm the granddaughter of Bob senior's brother Thomas M Hussey. I got to come to Oklahoma by invite of Bob senior when I got married to come out to the rodeo national finals. That's where I meet Bob junior. What a wonderful experiencing meeting Bob. He was the same age as my father Thomas Dunson Hussey.  I was searching for this part of my family tree when I saw his passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I so hope to touch base at some point to share family memories 🥰

Where to start?  Bob was a great friend, wonderful teacher and mentor, and a treasure trove of memories and history.  If you were around Bob and paid attention you would definitely learn something.  One side of Bob was razor sharp, as in “take a notebook to the meeting because if your counterpart doesn’t bring a notebook they are not that interested and you’ll leave with the only record of what went on.”  The other side of him left wiggle room, “You’re building railroad track...not a Swiss watch!”  I worked for and with Bob the better part of twenty years both at Bob Hussey, Inc., and The Oklahoma Railway Museum.  Lordy, I will miss Bob.

OBob was a great teacher, and he always loved to laugh.  He was always kind to me, and he loved meeting my oldest children. Any person watching him with children knew that he held a special place in his heart for them, and his eyes that had seen so much would soften with children nearby. 

The service was beautiful, thank you for sharing such wonderful stories of your dad, Kristen, Katy, and Sarah. They hold such a reverence for him that a person can't help but feel it.

I watched the beautiful tribute movie and I am very sorry for your loss. That Hussey smile can bring joy to even the saddest of hearts. Rest in peace and know that you are loved. Praying for peace for your family.

Before you passed, I spoke to God, Nana, Papa, Uncle Frank, Beth , Glenn and Kelley every night pleading with them to speak to you in your dreams. Tell you to keep fighting; that we were all here holding your hand.  

Every night since you passed, I talk to you and know you are listening to my heart speak to your soul. I miss you so much. I miss our Sunday evening conversations. I miss our big hugs. I miss your wheezy laugh when you got the giggles.  Your last big words and advice to me in August, I heard you. I understand what you wanted. I realized you wanted to make sure Marshall and Madeline, Erin and Seth understood that even though you weren't siting there with them, you believed in them and believed they needed to strike out and learn to live.

Tonight, I realized that from the hotel room, I can see your home in the distance. And I watched a beautiful sunset, seeing one little star form on the horizon. I knew it was you.  I find comfort in the words from a children's book, "The Little Prince."

In one of the stars I shall be living
In one of them I shall be laughing
And so it shall be,
As if all the stars were laughing and smiling
When you look at the sky at night. 

I love you and will always miss you, but know you are free and celebrating with family and friends.

So sad to hear of Bob’s passing.   He has been a friend since our wonderful OU days.  He had a sweet soul and was a true gentleman all of his days.

So sad to see Bob pass he was my husband Dale Fenner very good friend for many years.  My husband pass a year ago hoping they are together again.  He will be deeply missed he was a great guy

Bob Hussey was such an amazing friend. He and my Dad, (Tom Murphy) met at OU and remained close throughout their lives. From building water skis in the 50’s to attending their kid’s weddings, they never lost track of the important things in life. Hussey was part of the Murphy universe for over 50 years and his memory will always be a blessing to me.
