She was born on July 15, 1938 to Jean and Ruby Williams. While her greatest achievement was her children, she is best remembered by her love of ballroom dancing. She started her dancing career in her teens, and went on to become a professional exhibition ballroom dancer, dancing with Jimmie Crowell Studios for over 10 years. She was invited to open up disco clubs across the country in the 60’s, and taught dance to the local youth groups.
Ruby graduated from Mount St. Mary's where she was a cheerleader, in the school band, a majorette, and won many competitions swinging for the YMCA. She loved books and movies on World War II, thrift shopping, telling a great story, swimming, and of course, dancing and music. She was a devout Catholic and retired federal employee who worked for many years at Redstone Arsenal and Tinker Air Force Base.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Brown; two daughters, Patricia and Jeannie Sauls; grandson, Wesleigh Fortson; great-grandson Elijah Bailey; and nephew, Kameron Lombard.
