RV was born on January 25, 1938, in Morganton, Arkansas, to the late Roy Linn and Villa Pennington-Linn. In addition to his parents, RV is preceded in death by his loving wife Sue and three brothers, Wayne, Robert, and Gary.
RV is survived by his three daughters, Lori Purser and husband Craig, Lisa Denard and husband Doug, Anita Woods and husband Tom, and five grandchildren, Zackery Woods and wife Madison, Rustin Purser and wife Abbey, Reagan Briggs and husband Zachary, Cassidy Zoumhani and husband Hamza, Jeremy Woods and wife Madi and great granddaughter Lucy, all of Edmond, sister-in-laws Jeanie Sizemore of Amarillo TX, Peggy Linn of Damascus AR and Reta Linn Tharp of Clinton, AR as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
RV Linn was raised in Bee Branch, Arkansas, alongside his three brothers. Shortly after high school, RV set out on his own, settling in Wichita, Kansas, where he met and married the love of his life, Sue, on June 20, 1959. Together they built a loving home and raised three daughters.
RV was devoted husband, father, and grandfather. RV adored his wife and family, supporting them as an amazing provider and encourager. He rarely missed a game, recital, or milestone, and treasured time spent together especially Sunday lunches that became a cherished family tradition. He also shared a lifelong love of sports with his family and friends, cheering on his favorite teams - Cardinals, Royals, and Thunder.
RV’s professional journey was remarkable in the manufacturing industry beginning his career as one of the lowest-paid assembly line workers at TWECO and steadily rising through the ranks to become President and CEO. RV held several senior leadership positions in acquired companies and retired with distinction at age 60.
RV was known for his extraordinary generosity and servant’s heart. He gave freely to those in need, supported his church faithfully, and treated everyone with kindness and dignity. His faith in Jesus Christ, which he embraced at age 25, guided his life in quiet but powerful ways. He served in many roles within the church, teacher and Elder, offering encouragement, visiting those in need, and living out his belief that faith is best demonstrated through love and action. Even in his final years, his trust in God remained steadfast, and he found comfort in the promise of being reunited with his beloved Sue.
We are saying goodbye to our hero. A wonderful man who lived his faith out powerfully. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, encouragement and love - a legacy that will live on in all of us! May we always remember the foundation that our father, grandfather and friend built for us.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, US, on May 3, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
