Sharon grew up in Wichita, Kansas, where she graduated from high school and American Business College. She did secretarial work for Cessna. It was at Cessna that she was pursued by her coworker, Al Jantz. She eventually agreed to a date with him and they were married on May 23, 1964.
Sharon’s thorough attention to details and her commitment to organization were a great help to Al in his business.
The Jantzs moved to Edmond in 1988 and Sharon went to work in the HR department at Mercy, from which she would later retire.
They enjoyed taking trips together, both near and far. Sharon loved completing crossword puzzles in order. She was an avid OU and Thunder fan. Mostly, she loved and enjoyed her family. She was a sensitive, caring person who always remained positive. But she had a silly side, too.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Larry Axline and Karon Hood. She is survived by her beloved husband, Al; daughters, Michelle Ward (spouse Steve) and Melissa Voegeli; grandchildren: Ashlee Voegeli (partners Kiel and Amanda), Cody Ward (fiancé Regina), and Steffanie Ward; great-grandchildren: Xavier, Alayana, Brooklyn, Piper, Kobe, Alexandria, and Zayn; and many other family members and friends.
