Born on May 21, 1930, in Maud, Oklahoma, to Luther and Verna Staats, Sue grew up with a deep appreciation for creativity and hard work. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City before embarking on a career in commercial art, where she channeled her artistic passion into her work.
Sue’s life was enriched by the love she shared with her husband, Robert H. Whitnah. The two were married on September 1, 1950, and built a beautiful life together, filled with love, laughter, and family. She was a talented artist, known for her creativity, and also had a love for bowling, which brought her joy throughout her life.
Sue leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Russ Whitnah and wife Trish, Robi Casey and husband Pat, and Reed Whitnah and wife Grace; her grandchildren, Jill Young, Ran Whitnah II, Lauren Wells, Sara Wise, Jessica Hilliard, Noah Whitnah, and Justice Whitnah; as well as 20 great-grandchildren.
She is now reunited in peace with those who went before her: her beloved husband, Bob Whitnah; her son, Ran Robert Whitnah; and her grandsons, Levi Reed Whitnah and Kole Dalton Isaac Whitnah.
A Celebration of Life to honor Sue will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Community Church in Guthrie. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life well-lived.
Sue’s love, kindness, and artistic spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
