Susan Jane Newlin

Susan was born on January 15, 1938 to Dean and Erba Newlin in Cushing, Oklahoma. She was the fourth of five children.

Susan is survived by one sister, Nancey Greer and husband Bob. Sister-in-law's, Darlene Newlin, and Nella Newlin. Nieces Susan Collins, Pam Angle, Peggy Newlin, Patsy Bauer, and Jennifer Greer Crume and husband Dan. Nephews William Dean Newlin, Robert Newlin, Rex Newlin and Jason Greer and wife Ashley. She is also survived by great and great-great nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Bill and Robert Newlin; and her older sister Mary Jacquelyn (Jackie) Richardson.

Susan graduated from the Lovelass Clinic in Albuquerque in 1981 with her Medical Technologist Certificate. She worked at the Oklahoma Allergy & Asthma Clinic until she retired in 2005. After her retirement she frequently returned to the Allergy clinic to help when called upon.

Susan was a member of the Unity Spiritual Life Center in Warr Acres, Oklahoma. She loved to volunteer for various activities and functions at her church. She especially enjoyed volunteering in the kitchen. She also loved helping to usher.

After the death of her beloved dog, she couldn't bring herself to get another so she began dog sitting and enjoyed caring for the dogs and cats of others. Her kindness to animals was much appreciated by many people and their fur babies. Susan loved to travel and had visited many places in the US and Europe. She also enjoyed an occasional Mystery Trip.

Susan was a very good friend to Bill W. and many others for over 33 years. As her great-niece, Dawn Hudson, recently commented about her, "The light that shined from her life will continue in those who love her. She loved hard, worked hard, and played hard. This world won't be the same without her in it, but her family and many others are better because she was in it. We take comfort in knowing she is in a better place."

A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Unity Spiritual Life Center at 5603 NW 41st Street, Warr Acres, Oklahoma, on August 29, 2020 at 11:00 am. Masks are required.
