

Thelma M. (Wilson) Kusek was born in Henryetta, OK, the second daughter of a coal miner, Jack & Agnes Wilson. She graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic High School in 1941. She then moved to Oklahoma City and entered the St. Anthony Nursing Program, graduating in 1944. She worked as an RN for St. Anthony Hospital in North Surgery for many years and for other hospitals in OKC. She also worked for Johnson & Johnson in private duty for several years.
Thelma married Andrew “Andy” Kusek in 1949; to this union was born two sons, Andy and Bob. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church. She was also a lifetime member in VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1857. She was always willing to help anyone who needed help. She loved to play BINGO.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband in 1993, parents, one brother, and two sisters. She is survived by her sons, Andy Kusek, Jr., & wife Lee Ann and Bob Kusek; granddaughter, Rachel Hurt & husband Casey; grandsons: Nathon Kusek, Brett Davis, and Dakota Henderson & wife Katrina; great-granddaughters: Emily, Abby, and Nataly; brothers, Jerry and Jim; sister, Ann Baird; sister-in-law, Martha Drew; and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Tuesday, at St. Charles with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
