Born in Ellsworth Kansas, grew up in Russell, Kansas, and then moved to Oklahoma City where he graduated from Classen High School in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart in 1957, and soon welcomed the birth of their 3 Children: Troy, Johnny, & little Jerri. He worked for Mack Trucks for over 35 years as Parts Manager and Outside Salesman. He was Scoutmaster of Troop 117 for many years until both of his sons became Eagle Scouts. He then turned his attention to coaching little league softball for his daughter and also coaching her basketball team. He attended Putnam City United Methodist Church until they moved to the Edmond area; where he moved his membership to New Covenant United Methodist Church-where he has been an active member for over 15 years. In his off hours he enjoyed camping, fishing, and Bridge. He also enjoyed spending hours in the hot sun with Lindel Thomason searching for the ever elusive arrowhead.
