Tresa Renee Hammond

She was born on April 13, 1957 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Joyce McGowen and Howard Stieber. She graduated from Ponca City High School and attended the University of Oklahoma to pursue a degree in business. She married Joe Hammond on May 3, 1980. Together, they built a life together and had 4 wonderful children. Tresa worked for several different oil and gas companies during her life as an accountant. She was a courageous breast cancer survivor, whose strength and resilience inspired all who knew her.

Tresa had a wonderful passion for cooking that would truly warm your soul! She would cook enough to feed a village when there were only 6 of us there, ensuring that we would always take a part of her love home with us. She also loved cheering on her kids and grandkids while watching them play soccer and made sure they always knew she was their biggest fan, cheering loud and proud. She also loved cheering for the OU Football and OU Softball teams. Above all, Tresa was devoted to her family, finding her greatest joy in the moments shared with all of us together, her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Joyce McGowen, whom she loved and cared for the most above all other things, she is also preceded by her brother, David Stieber.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Hammond; children: Lindsey Hammond, Laura Vernon, Jason Hammond and wife, Rebecca; Dillon Hammond and wife, Chelsea; 7 cherished grandchildren: Zoe Vernon, Olivia Vernon, Emmy Vernon, Stella Vernon, Nolan Hammond, Ladd Hammond, Jack Hammond, Leah Molina as well as her brother, Barry Stieber and wife, Lisa.

She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on 10:00 AM, Wednesday July 16, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery (13400 N Kelley Ave, OKC, OK 73131).
