

Wallace Allen Lee, 78, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2010. He was born July 6, 1931 in Marland, OK, to Henry and Ethel (Dennis) Lee. He attended Marland schools through 12th grade. In June, 1951, he married his childhood sweetheart, Fredonna L. Selvey.
Wallace attended Oklahoma A&M College, graduating as the Distinguished Military Graduate in the Reserve Officers Training Corp., with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Upon graduation, he entered the US Army as a Second Lieutenant. He received his Masters Degree in Education in 1963 in Hawaii. While in the service he received numerous awards, including: National Defense Service Medal, Parachute Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Legion of Merit, and Meritorious Service Medal. He proudly served his country in the States, Germany, Vietnam, and Korea. Wallace spent 23 years in the service, retiring as Lt. Colonel in 1976.
After retirement, he became a real estate agent, tax preparer for H&R Block, manager of a Radio Shack, and a 15 year volunteer at Mercy Health Center. He was a member of New Covenant Christian Church. His interests included books, bowling, golf, and people.
In Marland, Wallace became a 33 Degree Mason and belonged to the Shriners.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Calvin Lee; sister, Lila May Turk; and a granddaughter, Donna May Canham.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years; sister Nila & husband Bruce Gilmore of Tulsa, OK; children: Steven & wife Toni of Virginia, Janet & husband Brad Canham of Oklahoma, and Patricia & husband Alan Jackson of California; seven grandchildren: Laura Lee, Christopher & Audrey Lee, Kara & Brad Kilman, Jennifer & Dallas Caldwell, Christina, Kelly, and Jamie Jackson; and five great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be Thursday from 12pm to 9pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:30am, Friday, March 12, 2010, at New Covenant Christian Church in Oklahoma City with burial at 2:30pm at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Ponca City, OK.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
